Sometimes it Doesn't go as Planned

I have made this once before and it is one of my favorite bow tops.  I thought I would make it up in a cute ITY knit of red, navy, creams.  Well, I thought wrong, the fabric was a bear to sew, the hardest ITY knit I have ever sewn.  Then I put the tie on wrong and finally the back was 2" longer than the front.  I took this as a sign, this top was not meant to be!

I looked through Pattern Review and my blog to find my original top and I don't think I ever reviewed it.

This is a great pattern with lots of extra details with the shirring.  I am going to make it again but be a bit more selective with the fabric.

Next up Vogue 8831

One thing I know for sure, I need to get to sewing.  My input of fabric is way more than my output of garments!

  1. We must be on the same wavelength, Lori. I worked all weekend on a project with quiet questionable results. I also pulled out a Vogue cowl neck pattern, thinking that I need a sure thing for the next one! Good luck with yours!

  2. I feel your pain......it seems like there is more coming in than being made!

  3. I have more incoming fabric too...fabric warehouse had a 40% off sale recently and I found some great fabric but I need to get to sewing. Trying to get the house ready for the holiday's and Christmas shopping have gotten in the way too!

  4. I lost that output/input battle a long time ago! LOL! And I'm sorry the shirt didn't work out!

  5. Oh it's a pity the shirt didn't work out how you wanted... I am being over-run with fabric, and need to join you in getting productive too, hehe :D
